I’m singing a Christmas standard written in 1948 by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson. Recorded first by Doye O’Dell, it did not become popular until the following year when Ernest Tubb (a country singer) recorded his version. Elvis Presley included it with changes, in his first Christmas album in 1957. He did not release it as a single until 1964. Since then,many aritists, Country and Pop have sung this one on vinyl Pls Flashback” with me to 1948. Thanks for listening and happy hollidays to you all!…….The Captain… ..

The really Face of turkish justice and face of nation. The movie is based on the true story of Billy Hayes, a young American caught trying to smuggle 4 1/2 pounds of hashish out of Turkey in 1970. Thrown into a hellhole of a Turkish prison, he’s tortured by sadistic guards, betrayed by corrupt lawyers and toyed with by capricious judges before he finally escapes. The 1978 movie, with its Oliver Stone screenplay, still holds up as a masterful piece of filmmaking — a harrowing nail-biter from start to end.
