Elizabeth Edwards

The News and Observer reports that Elizabeth Edwards, the wife of former US Senator and presidential-hopeful John Edwards, has cut her estranged husband from her will, signed days before her death last month. Elizabeth Edwards, whose battle with breast cancer and coping with the disintegration of her marriage made her a public figure and heroine, left all her possessions to her three children and made no mention in her will of her husband, who fathered a daughter with a campaign videographer in an extramarital affair and from whom she separated after 32 years of marriage in early 2010. Edwards’ last will and testament, filed on Dec. 22nd in Orange County Superior Court in North Carolina, named her lawyer daughter, Cate Edwards, as executor of her estate and states, “All of my furniture, furnishings, household goods, jewelry, china, silverware and personal effects and any automobiles owned by me at the time of my death, I give and bequeath to my children.” Edwards will was signed just six days before her death on Dec. 7, 2010.
